Return To The Previous Story - At The Ohio River
One Saturday June 30 Jack’s birthday. Everyone but Bill was forced to give him birthday presents. Only Jack and Bill liked it. Torry had to give him everything but his crystal. Amy had only her cat. Dan has just nothing.
The next day Mr. Trim got their back, then they went on Mr. Trim’s rocket going to Jupiter.
1½ hours later Mr. Trim said, “That spaceship over there is Voyager II it will reach Jupiter this month, but can get there in 10 minutes. Our rocket goes 300,000,000 miles per hour.”
“That’s faster than light,” said Bob.
“No light goes 669,600,000 miles per hours but we go over 1/3 the speed of light,” said Mr. Trim.
“Rings around Jupiter?” asked Bob.
“Yes,” said Mr. Trim. “Voyager I found that out last March.”
“That red spot in a hurricane,” said Mrs. Trim.
“Right honey,” said Mr. Trim.
“Can we go on Jupiter?” asked Amy.
“No!” answered Mr. Trim. “The atmosphere will crush us before we land on Jupiter.”
“There’s Io,” said Betty, Torry, Amy, John, Dan, Bob, Victor, Randy, and Mrs. Trim.
“Smart,” said Mr. Trim.
“It’s lunch time I have made it in the kitchen,” said Mrs. Trim.
After lunch Amy said, “That was good, but how did you make cat food for Frisky?”
“Oh I got that from Ben Trim’s formula on cat food,” said Jill Trim.
“Right now John is taking films and it goes the speed of light to my lab when it is shown and recorded on channel 31 Jesterville and in my lab,” said Mr. Trim.
“This is nice without Jack and Bill,” said Bob.
“Jack, lets see what is on channel 31,” said Bill.
Later what there taking pictures of Jupiter. So they took another rocket there to Jupiter.
“Now they’ll see their death,” said Bill.
“Faster, Bill,” said Jack.
“This is as fast as it can go,” said Bill.
Meanwhile orbiting around Jupiter is the other rocket. John looked for Bill and Jack and could not find them. Mr. Trim scanned the rocket but they were not there.
Just then Mr. Trim checked the other rockets then said, “They’re in one that is just past Mars.”
“We’ll be ready when they get here,” said Bob.
“I did not want anything in the galaxy for Bill and Jack to come,” said Betty.
“I know it was so nice,” added Dan.
There on the other side of the planet.
“How do we stay on the ground?” asked Torry.
“Good question,” said Mr. Trim. “You see this switch while it is on it pulls you to the floor and when it is off you go floating everywhere.”
“That’s some invention you got there Mr. Trim,” said Bob.
“I agree with Bob,” said Amy.
“Look there’s Bill and Jack,” said John.
“They’re shooting at us,” said Amy.
“Let’s go back this very minute,” said Dan, Randy, and Victor.
“We all said the same thing,” said Dan.
“This is no time for jokes, look they’re going to put us in the red spot,” said Bob.
Meanwhile in the other rocket Bill and Jack wrecked both rockets and all of them went in Jupiter’s red spot.
“How can we get out of this one, Mr. Trim?” said John.
“I don’t know,” said Mr. Trim.
“I got an idea why don’t we fly out,” said Bob.
“That would crush us,” said Mr. Trim.
“Why don’t we go to the eye and then fly out,” said Betty.
“Why didn’t I think of that?” said Mr. Trim. “John do as Betty says.”
“A.O.K.,” said John.
So they did it, but Bill and Jack saw it and did the very same thing. So they both went back to Earth.
“Come on!” said Bob. “They’re gaining on us.”
Just then Torry turned into a comet passing in front of Bill and Jack forcing them to slow down then went next to their rocket got in and changed back.
“Good work, Torry,” said Mr. Trim.
“How did you do that?” wondered Mrs. Trim.
“Oh I forgot to show you look,” said Torry getting out his crystal.
Torry put it back in his pocket.
Later near Earth.
“Look there’s are own moon,” said Dan.
“We’ll be there in 1 minute,” said Mr. Trim.
“They’re gaining on us again,” said Amy.
“...44...43...42...41...40...39...” counted Dan.
“They’re in firing range,” said Amy.
“18...17...16...15...14...13...12...” counted Dan.
“It will be good to be home,” said Bob.
“4...3...2...1...0" counted Dan.
Then the next day Bill and Jack were in jail and they had Betty’s birthday.
