Return To The Previous Story - Emergency Mission
One day Torry woke up and knew it was his birthday. School was out that Monday and no homework. So he called his friends over for the day. He opened the door and there was Bob, Victor, Randy, and Dan with Mr. and Mrs. Trim right between them. They had breakfast them Amy and Betty came in. John came in too. They played some games until just before lunch. Everyone but Torry went into a room.
When Torry was called he came in and, “Surprise!” they all said.
There were 10 nice gifts and a beautiful orange cake with 8 candles each one was a different color.
“Make a wish and blow out the candles,” said Mr. Trim.
Torry turned into a wind storm and blew out all the candles. Then Torry turned back.
“You didn’t have to overdo it,” Amy said.
“Never mind as long as I did it,” Torry replied.
Then Torry opened Mrs. Trim’s first and he found some clothes. A red shirt and some blue and green pants. Then Mr. Trim’s and he found some books on his crystal. Then Victor’s present. And he found a game called beat the 8 ball. Then Bob’s and he found a LEGO set. Then he looked at John’s and he found a movie on space. Then it was lunch time and it was his favorite meal. And the cake too. Then Mr. Trim got his movie projector and the movie was shown. Torry enjoyed it.
After the film was over Torry went to check the mail. He found a letter from Joseph and Sarah. He read it then found a package. He opened it and found a Star Wars game. He went back inside.
“They’re still 4 presents unopened,” said Dan.
“I’ll get to them after this game,” Torry said.
Dan, Amy, Randy, and Torry played the game. Torry won.
“I’ll open Amy’s present next,” said Torry.
“Frisky’s too,” said Amy.
Frisky mewed proudly. So Torry opened it and found a Lite Bright. Torry took the steamboat one and they all did it. Then Torry opened Betty’s present and found an order for a year’s worth of World magazines payed for.
Then Dan said, “I didn’t know what you wanted to buy, so here’s some money to buy what you want.”
So Torry took the money the Torry went to sit down. And on the chair was Randy’s present. Torry opened it and found a race car set.
Then Torry asked, “Does it glow in the dark?”
“Yes, Torry, it does,” Randy replied.
So Torry played with it for a while. Then Torry read the books on his crystal. Then Torry, Bob, Betty, and Victor played with Torry’s gift. Victor won the first and Torry was way ahead in the 2nd. Torry then played Star Wars and won that game that time. But they all had a good time.
Torry asked, “When will the magazine start coming in?”
“Next month,” Betty answered.
“This is one time Bill and Jack won’t come here and I’m glad of that,” said Torry. “And we’re having a good time. And it’s only 3 o’clock.”
Then they played pin the tail on the cat.
“Why a cat?” asked Bob.
Then Torry replied, “I wanted it to look like Frisky.”
Frisky once more mewed proudly to himself.
Everybody made it. Even Frisky thumping his tail where the other cat’s tail should be. Then they had soda pop and other stuff. But Frisky took the 9-lives cat food.
Meanwhile Jack and Bill fell asleep. But at the party not a one fell asleep.
Then Torry said, “Kenny isn’t here either. And I think that’s great I think. We don’t get it like this every single day. So that’s why I’m proud. And anyway these are the nicest presents I’ve ever had.”
