Return To The Previous Story - Joseph In The 16th Century
This was 2 days after Christmas and Mr. Trim, Mrs. Trim, and John were teaching Torry how to use his new microscope. Just then Jack, Bill, and Kenny walked in.
“Next year will be our year,” said Kenny. “You’ll have to behave strictly to our orders.”
“Have you gone mad?!” yelled Torry.
All of the sudden Frisky jumped in. Jack, Bill, and Kenny picked him up.
“No pets except for us,” said Bill.
“And no more inventions,” added Jack.
Then they started to leave when they heard a voice say, “Put Frisky down you big bullies.”
It was Amy. They put them in the back of the truck and drove off.
“What can we do?” asked John.
“Relax,” said Mr. Trim calmly. “We’ll find a way.”
“What’s all the commotion about?” asked Dan coming up to them.
“We heard the yell,” said Betty.
“We’ve got to do something,” declared Torry.
“But what can we do?” asked Randy.
“Listen to Torry,” answered Victor.
“Let’s beat them up!” yelled Bob.
Mrs. Trim disagreed.
“They’ll get us all that way,” she said.
“O.K.,” said Torry. “Here’s what happened...and here’s what I think we should do.”
Meanwhile Jack, Bill, and Kenny got out of the truck. And slept in their secret hideout.
“P-s-t,” said a voice.
“Torry!” yelled Amy.
“Shhh!” whispered Torry. “They’ll hear us.”
But none of them heard it. Torry spoke again.
“Where’s the key?” he asked.
“I don’t know,” replied Amy. “But in the daytime they have it all the time.”
“O.K.,” said Torry. “I saved a pizza for you.”
“Good,” said Amy. “I’m hungry.”
“I have a plan to get you out of there,” declared Torry. “Good bye.”
“Good bye,” replied Amy.
“Meow!” said Frisky.
Then Torry left. The next day Torry turned into a cheetah to get in a hurry. Then turned back and put on his salesman suit. The rest of the gang hid behind a big rock.
“Hello,” said Torry. “I’d like to sell this new model. It has the latest adjustments...”
Meanwhile Betty grabbed the keys and went to the truck. And opened it. There she found Amy sound asleep.
She went in and yelled, “WAKE UP!”
Jack, Bill, and Kenny turned around. Jack hit her while Bill took the keys.
Meanwhile Torry turned into a bird and flew away.
Meanwhile Bill tossed the keys to Kenny. Then ran out. Bob jumped out from behind a rock and knocked Jack unconscious. Bill ran up to him but he too was knocked out. Kenny came up and knocked Bob down. He got up and kept hitting Kenny. Kenny hit him and pushed him on Amy. She almost got out. Kenny locked the door as Jack and Bill got up. Soon they drove away.
Meanwhile Torry kept flying ‘till he saw Artie’s house. He flew down and changed back. Artie opened the door.
“I do not want to buy anything,” he said because Torry still had his salesman suit on.
He rang the bell. Artie answered it.
“It’s me, Torry,” said talking off the suit.
“Then come in,” he said.
They both went in to talk about what to do.
Meanwhile in the truck Jack, Bill, and Kenny were talking about where to hide.
“The fairy,” said Bill. “It isn’t used this time of year.”
“Let’s hide in the haunted house,” said Jack. “but who will we take next.”
“Simple,” exclaimed Kenny. “first we got Amy, then Betty, and then Bob. So next would come Dan.”
The next day John got a package. He came in with what was left of the gang.
“Open it,” they all commanded.
So he did.
“Flowers,” he said.
“And so pretty,” added Dan.
As he said that a gas came out and John started laughing.
“What’s so funny?” they all asked.
“Ha-ha-ha it’s not me-he-he-it’s laughing ga-ha-ha-has..”
Everyone soon started joining in. Dan, who was in the back, was suddenly grabbed by 3 people wearing gas masks. He was put in the truck and they drove away.
“Ha ha,” said Dan taking a deep breath. “Where are we?”
“I don’t know,” said Amy. “But I know we won’t like it.”
Just then Dan got an idea.
“That loose beam, try breaking it, Bob,” exclaimed Dan.
Bob broke it loose.
Dan continued, “Now try breaking that window.”
So he did and then he put the beam by the window and Dan climbed up. He slipped after his first three steps.
“This is too steep,” cried Dan. “only a cat can climb up it.”
Just then Amy and Dan looked at each other and then at Frisky.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” she said.
Amy got her pizza wrapper out and looked outside then wrote where they were and tied it to Frisky’s collar. Frisky then jumped out the window and ran away.
Just then Jack, Bill, and Kenny opened the door of the truck.
“Get out!” exclaimed Kenny as Jack got out a gun.
“This way,” said Bill as he led them into the haunted house.
Kenny and Bill opened a door.
“This is you prison. Bob, do you like it?” asked Jack.
Bob got in the prison.
“And this one is Amy’s,” said Bill.
“Get in here, Dan!” yelled Kenny with a gun on him.
“You don’t have to yell!” yelled Dan walking in the prison.
“There’s enough food in here for one day,” said Kenny. “And one day only!”
“Where’s Frisky!” yelled Bill.
“Never mind,” said Bill. “We’ll get them tomorrow.”
The next day Frisky came to Artie’s house.
“Look,” commanded Artie. “There’s a note on Frisky’s collar. It’s from Amy! It say come to the haunted house.”
“We must tell the others this,” declared Torry. “Come on, let’s go!”
Soon they were all together discussing it. They decided to sneak up at night.
Meanwhile Amy, Betty, Dan, and Bob were talking through their prison cages.
“I hope Frisky made it,” stated Amy.
“So do I,” said Dan not so sure. “They may have found him and killed him.”
“I’d sure like to break out of here,” declared Bob.
“There will be a time to break out of here,” discussed Dan. “They’ll be a time.”
Later that day they had just finished their last meal.
“Last bite,” said Dan.
He put it in his mouth and chewed. No sooner had he finished chewing it then Jack, Bill, and Kenny walked up to him.
“So you finished your food,” said Kenny. “We could make you starve to death. But that would be too mean. Even for us.”
Jack released Dan, Bill released Amy, and Kenny released Bob.
“Are you letting us go?” asked Dan.
“Not quite,” said Jack.
“Where are you taking us,” yelled Bob. “And where’s Betty.”
“You’ll see,” said Bill. “you’ll see.”
They were led into a large room.
“This is our laboratory,” said Kenny. “And here’s Betty.”
A door slid open and Betty walked in.
Jack began to speak, “This is the latest invention we stole from Mr. Tri...”
Kenny put his hand over Jack’s mouth, snapped his fingers, and stomped his foot at the same time.
“What he means to say,” said Bill. “was it’s what we last invented.”
“Sure it is,” said Betty thinking they stole it.
Bob ran up with his fists then Kenny fired the weapon. Mist came out. When they smoke cleared Bob was frozen solid.
“The mist was near absolute zero. Only extreme heat can break it,” said Kenny. “And you’re next.”
He pointed it at Betty and did the same thing to her. Amy and Dan tried to run away but Jack and Bill got them.
“Don’t worry,” said Kenny. “You’re not unconscious. You’re just asleep having dreams...or nightmares! Ha, ha!” “Good,” said Jack. “but how does that help us get rid of them.”
“If you knew, we’d worry,” said Bill.
That night while they were celebrating the rest of the gang snuck up in the woods just to the North of the fair. Frisky first, then John close behind. Mr. Trim was next with Mrs. Trim close behind. Then Victor, then Torry and Artie, then Randy at the very back. There was a rope tied between two trees. Frisky broke it and a mist (the same mist that got Dan, Amy, Betty, and Bob) came down on him. The smoke cleared and he too was frozen.
“Be careful,” whispered Mr. Trim. “Who knows what will happen next.”
They went on. Then John stepped in a hole. Then he was yanked up in a tree.
“Give me a boost,” said Randy. “I can cut it with my pocket knife.”
So Mr. Trim stood by the tree. Mrs. Trim got on Mr. Trim. Then Artie got on both of them. Then Torry, then Victor, then Randy on the very top with his pocket knife trying to cut the ropes. Just then a branch hit Mr. Trim knocking him off balance. Arite jumped off as Mr. and Mrs. Trim fell down, but he too lost his balance and they all fell. Randy and Victor rolled downhill. Randy rolled into the fair grounds. As soon as he did an alarm went off. He quickly got up and ran into the woods. Victor ran off after him.
“Quick,” Mr. Trim said to Torry. “You take Artie and go that way. I’ll take Jill and go to the haunted house...Oh! And stay together.”
No sooner had they left when Frisky and John vanished. Frisky appeared next to Amy and John on conveyor belt with his hands and feet tied to the sides.
Meanwhile the Trims went toward the haunted house when Mrs. Trim fell in algraphy sand. (It makes you sink 3 ½ times faster than quick sand.) Soon she went under and disappeared. She reappeared next to John with her hands and feet tied too.
“Now for Mr. Trim,” said Kenny.
He forced Mr. Trim under and the same thing happened. At the same time Mr. Trim went under Randy could go no further and sat by a tree to rest. Victor came and sat down next to him.
“Victor!” exclaimed Randy.
“Randy!” said Victor. “Boy am I ever pooped.”
“Me too,” said Randy.
So they sat down and talked and rested.
Meanwhile Torry and Artie were looking for Randy and Victor. Torry got a few white flakes in his hand.
“It’s snowing,” he said.
And he was right at first a light snow then it began to pour down so it was a blizzard.
“Quick,” suggested Victor. “to the haunted house it’s warm in there. If with Jack, Bill, and Kenny.”
So they started to do so until Randy slipped and his pocket knife came out. He started to get up and catch up with Victor when he saw his pocket knife.
“I can’t go there without it,” he said picking it up and going to Victor (who was already inside) and Dan, Amy, Betty, and Bob.
As soon as Victor got in there Jack and Bill grabbed him as Kenny tied him up. Randy slowly went to the haunted house. Torry and Artie watched him go there.
“We can’t let him go up there all alone,” exclaimed Torry. “Poor Randy doesn’t have a chance.”
So they followed him to the hideout of you know who. Randy walked in and fell down. Jack, Bill, and Kenny picked him up and tied him up. Before they finished Torry and Artie walked in. Artie hid. As soon as they finished tying up Randy they went after Torry. Kenny tried to grab him. But he ducked and crawled under Kenny’s legs. He quickly got up and ran.
“Now to run out of here so Randy can untie the others,” thought Torry.
But all the doors were closed. So he turned into part of the floor.
“Where did he go?” asked Jack.
“He must be somewhere,” said Bill.
“This way!” ordered Kenny.
Torry turned back.
“Whew!” thought Torry. “I gave them the slip.”
Just then he ran into Bill. Torry fell on top of Bill as the crystal came rolling out. Kenny grabbed him and Jack tied him up.
“Now,” said Bill. “before you die I’d like to explain how you die. When the conveyor belt moves and you break the laser beam you’ll be frozen just like your friends. Then you’ll fall. At that temperature you’ll break into many pieces.”
Just then Artie jumped out of his hiding place.
“Artie!” yelled Jack.
They all went after him. Artie quickly jumped on the conveyor belt. The others climbed up on it. He began stepping over everybody. So did Jack, Bill, and Kenny. Then he tripped over Randy. He got his pocket knife as he got up. He jumped in the air which made them jump off. He took the knife and cut the ropes. Torry moved his right hand. Just then they grabbed Artie and began to tie him up. Now it was up to Torry. All of the sudden they started the conveyor belt. Is this the end of them? Can Torry save them in time? And what about the blizzard?
Torry untied himself before they tied Artie. Just as the conveyor belt moved, Torry jumped and grabbed the crystal. Torry turned into an elephant.
“Help!” said Kenny. “You can have our year.”
“I agree,” added Bill.
“Me too,” said Jack.
At the same time the mist covered John. They ran to the next room and shut the door behind them.
“Help!” yelled Mrs. Trim.
Torry went there and destroyed the mist machine. Then he turned back and untied Mrs. Trim. Soon they went to untie the others. Just then Torry saw Bob, the first one in line, about to fall off.
“I should have got them first,” he thought.
He quickly ran over there and turned into a mini-blast furnace until Bob was back to normal. Then he turned back and caught him.
“Run!” he yelled.
He did as Torry turned back into a mini-blast furnace until Betty was back to normal. Then he turned back and caught her. He did the same with Dan, Amy, Frisky, and finally John. Mrs. Trim turned the conveyor belt off.
“What was that for?” asked Torry.
“It’s time to make them think that’s how we got out of it,” Mrs. Trim answered.
The others got all the mist machines and they used the travel machine to get back to Mr. Trim’s lab. The next night they were celebrating New Year’s Eve. Everybody showed their Christmas presents.
“Hey everybody it’s midnight,” yelled Torry.
They went out and blasted fireworks of many colors.
“HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!” they all yelled and it was a happy one indeed.
