Triax

Triax is one of the most frequently used planets in my science fiction stories. It has a history going back thousands of years.

Below is a list of the various rulers Triax has had over the year. I intend to update this list into a better format. King Jake XXVIII and Lynn I are the rulers of Triax at the time the Survival On Mars series takes place. Even so, I plan to change some of the names like Jake and Htead, fill in the gaps, and get rid of some of the excess Hortars, Mortars, and Shlortars.

Rulers of Triax

First Age (1-375) Triax was divided into various countries until Tovar the conqueror united Triax as a whole. Tovar was either a benign ruler or a tyrant depending on who you ask. His greatest disappointment was his three sons fighting over the kingdom he worked so hard to unite. Rumor has it he donated all his wealth to charity. The decendents of Hortar, Mortar, and Shlortar continued their fighting until Hortar XI finally got the upper hand. He named his son Ventar, meaning victory. In 369 he defeated Hortar XI and in 375 his soon Ventar I defeated Shlortar XIII. Triax was once again united. (OOC: The feud could be completed in far less time. I just need to think of a good way to do it.)

1. Tovar (1-31)
2. Hortar I (31-61) North Triax
3. Mortar I (31-59) Central Triax
4. Shlortar I (31-60) South Triax
5. Hotar XI (349-371)
6. Mortar X (353-369) lost to Hortar XI in 369
7. Shlortar XIII (361-375) lost to Ventar I in 375

Second Age (375-794) Since Triax is much larger than Earth, there was another continant no one had bothered to explore. Until about 550, over 99.9 percent of the people lived in East Triax. Gradually people moved to West Triax and in 621 they decide to have a king of their own, Lughn I. The Lughns and the Ventars treated each other in different ways over the years depending on who was in charge. Although they had some hostilities, it never escalated into full scale war. Lughn V was friendly towards East Triax yet determed to get them to stop treating the people of West Triax as inferior. As an answer to his wishes, Triax was reunited once again when Lotar I, son of Lughn V, married Cearra I, daughter of Ventar XII. Their son was Jake I. (OOC: Jake, a common name, sounds strange among all the exotic ones.)

8. Ventar I (371-407)
9. Ventar VII (599-627)
10. Lughn I (621-642) West Triax
11. Ventar XII (736-770) East Triax

Third Age (794-1141) This time was fairly uneventful as the Jakes continued to rule. At the end of the rule of Jake XIV, Triax was divided once again. Jake XV rules East Triax and Lughn VI ruled West Triax

15. Jake I (794-835) son of Lortar I and Cearra I
16. Jake XIV (1111-1141)

Fourth Age (1141-1279) Without warning, East Triax suddently collasped. West Triax lasted longer. When Katrina II died in 1201, the doctors discovered she had been posioned. For many years people were puzzled by the mystery of who killed Katrina until new evidence turned up proving it had been a suicide. Katrina killed Katrina. West Triax collapsed after the death of Shlius II in 1279. After that time, Triax did not have another ruler for 1000 years.

17. Jake XV (1141-1154) East Triax – empire crumbled in 1154
18. Lughn VI (1141-1159) West Triax
19. Katrina I (1159-1184) West Triax
20. Katrina II (1184-1201) West Triax
21. Lortar II (1201-1237) West Triax
22. Lortar III (1237) West Triax
23. Lortar IV (1237-1260) West Triax
24. Shlius I (1260-1272) West Triax
25. Shlius II (1272-1279) West Triax

Fifth Age, also called the Dark Ages (1279-2279) Many people tried to rule during the 1000 years, but the best they could do was a city or two. After 1000 years, Clug,a desendant of Shlortar fulfilled an ancient prophecy to become ruler of all Triax, united once again. (OOC: Although the name Clug is not too popular, I wanted a name that did not sound royal at all.)

Sixth Age (2279-2363) Another time that was fairly uneventful.

26. Clug (2279-2281)
27. Jake XVI (2281-2303)
28. Shlortar XIV (2303-2330)

31. Shrya II (2393-2410)
32. Shrya III (2410-2430)

46. Cearra VI (2862-2887)
47. Antru I (2887-2916)
48. Cearra VII (2916-2934)
49. Cearra VIII (2995-3012)

Eighth Age (3012-3080) Cearra VIII died without an heir to the throne and people once again started fighting for it. No less than 435 people tried to rule before the infamous Htaed I took over. Htaed I unleashed a reign of terror upon Triax. War, famine, and disease spread like wild fire. In 3047, after 35 years, Htaed I was finally defeated by Jake XVI who many consider the greatest monarch Triax ever had. Htaed II was killed by a hostile mob before he was ever given a chance. When Shlius V tried to start another reign of terror the people of Triax turned to Omicron, the first and only outsider to rule all of Triax.

50. Htaed I (3012-3047)
