FOREST By ... Steve Lucky Living landmarks in all directions Provide people with better connections To nature and to events long past. Some trees are able to last For generations creating a link In a place where one can stop and think About events from long ago. Living landmarks let one know Despite all activity around the place Life is still able to keep pace. Animals can also be seen Hiding somewhere amoung the green. Even if they do not stay in view They are part of the forest too. Some are seen only once and then never seen again. Others keep returning every now and then. Animals, at their own discretion Can create a lasting impression. Various animal sights and sounds In a forest can always be found. Whether for a lifetime or for an instant Forests do not have to be distant. Human beings with their technology still depend On plants and animals to find a friend. Copyright 2002, Steve Lucky
