Return To The Previous Poem - Reputation

SAVING REPUTATION By ... Steve Lucky Reputation has to begin with self. It can not be bought with wealth. Since reputation comes clouded points of view, To himself or herself one has to be true. Many lies other people have spoken. Not all of them are easily broken. One day these lies will fade away And the truth will be here to stay. Ultimately the lies that hurt the most Are not the ones others will boast, But the lies one tells on his or her own. When they return even pressure is known. Not even the greatest actor Can escape the human factor Of dealing with the eyewitness account Form the most trusted source one can hope to amount. One can travel to the most distant star Without that person being very far. Copyright 2002, Steve Lucky
