RANSOM By ... Steve Lucky Am I being held for ransom? Do secrets in need of revealing still untold Keep me from my intended destination? Those secrets would have been told much soon If I did not feel like I am being held for ransom. My fear remains the same day after day. Somehow I must pay a price Too great for me to even consider paying. Crying for help seems the best thing to do. Often overlooked by adults, it is a useful skill Where I can show my ability Not to overlook that which seems unimportant. Using the strength of an army I look For someone who can defend me Against those who wish me harm. Eventually I will settle for someone who can afford To pay the ransom.
