TO BE A HERO By ... Steve Lucky What does it take to be a hero? Does it take enough strength to lift an automobile, Enough intelligence to solve complex logic problems, Courage uncomparable to the more insignificant fears people face everyday, Or even a virtuous past contributing to a spotless record. Former criminals without much strength or brain power, Terrified by the events surrounding them Have somehow managed to risk their lives to save others. Lack of skills can be overcome And an imperfect past can be overlooked When someone is willing to sacrifice all To help another in need. Is sacrificing everything a requirement for being a hero? Everyday heroes can be found every day. Such people know not to overlook the little things. All the steps one takes towards being a hero Brings one closer to the goal. Not all steps are equal, but no steps should be overlooked. What does it take to be a hero? It takes a heroic effort. Copyright 2002, Steve Lucky
