FEEL By ... Steve Lucky Early in infancy sight and sound And other things constantly surround The growing child who has not yet found Other human beings are on common ground. Growing up in school one tries to learn If anyone can ever earn Pleasant feelings for which all seem to yearn Unless they know it will later burn. Life is full of many surprises. During the tough times, the unsung hero rises. Being burried alive with countless disguises Can not erase the donated prizes. These prizes come from within the heart, Something with which one will never part From the knowledge that even being smart Will not defeat the divine work of art. More than the senses, knowledge, and power Is the fragile beauty of a flower. One can crush it any hour, Yet it prospers after a fierce rain shower. Hope will come to those who forgive Because they have a glimpse how to live Like God who continues to steadily give Moments people will want to relive. Important it is for one to think. Without feelings, however, these thoughts will shrink. Thoughts can be wonderful, but they can also stink Or be missed in a single blink. Not just mind, but heart and soul, Brings one closer to the goal. Love extends from pole to pole, Capable of paying even the most expensive toll. Secrets one tries hard to conceal Another can still find a way to steal. How can one know something is real Unless one is somehow able to feel? Copyright 2004, Steve Lucky
