Return To The Previous Poem - Will Power

GEOMETRIC By ... Steve Lucky One, two, four, eight ... Like the number the change goes from small to great. Everything has to stay in proportion. Who among billions will notice one abortion? Sixteen, thirty two, sixty four ... Powerful people seem to want more and more. Greater amounts are needed for the same effect Regardless of race or dialect. One hundred twenty eight, two hundred fifty six ... Increased power plays devious tricks. The more one has, the more one wants. Soon it takes more than a few tricky stunts. Five hundred twelve, Two to the power of three less than twelve. As smaller numbers disappear from sight Does one even consider if the direction is right? One thousand twenty four Plenty is available to give to the poor. Will one or two dollars even be missed By the rich who have plenty of greed to resist? Geometric increases will wear everyone out, Both the poor unknowns and the rich with clout. It is clear for anyone to see No one can keep up with geometry. Copyright 2004, Steve Lucky
