GRAND DESIGN By ... Steve Lucky Who notices the microscopic life Found on a speck of dust Resting on the floor? Such creatures are probably Not even aware of our existence. Does that make their life any less important Than the life we can see all around us? Could anyone elsewhere in the universe Possibly notice the lifeforms called human beings? Our home, the earth, is like a speck of dust Floating in the great sea known as the universe. Despite this undeniable fact, Human beings should not be considered Any less important In the grand design of the universe. Everything, whether large or small, Relates to the rest of the universe On its own scale. These scales are far too different For learning which one is the best. Each scale adds its own unique contribution, More than one scale is needs for a good concept Of the vast complexities of the universe. Perhaps the best scale Is whichever one is needed at the moment, But the moment is a scale of time So the original question remains. All things large and small, near and far, Timeless and instantaneous, Can be found in the grand design. Copyright 2007, Steve Lucky
